Snot, Poetry, Chicks, and Pooh

I caught a really nasty little cold last Thursday. I was all sore-throaty, and then the next day, I was all coughy and snotty. The day after that, stir-crazy and snotty. So, that Saturday Elise and I went to the entitled-white-people mall, Stoneridge, in Pleasanton, CA. We could have "kept it real" and went to Southland, in Hayward. But, little miss had an agenda of her own. She wanted a Cinnabon! Real bad! Like she needs more bons!

She had some of the "green" cookie, that Terra and Katie made for me before we left. Approximately one quarter of it (Where as I had two whole cookies that fateful new-years eve, thanks Patty and Elise for all your help.)

We went to Macy's, looking for a sweater for myself. The hunt is on for that perfect black sweater; a nice knit with a V-neck and no cuffed sleeves, something simple and warm-y. I don't understand I can't find this sweater. I would think that it would be real easy to find. No such luck. We went to Lane Bryant for Else. That's when the cookie hit. She was just like. Ooooh the pretty colors and she wanted the same T-shirt in four different colors.

Elise: (calling from the dressing room, where she's been taking a long time anyway.) Hey Brian! Could get me this shirt in black, pink, orange, and ... green!

This very helpful, very big, tall and super nice girl helped me. She was so cute. Asking me what I think she, Elise would like and about her size, etc.... I even told the manager about her. I was just very happy to have her there.

We went to Torrid afterwards but nothing was really jumping out at Elise. So then we went down the escalator to Cinnabon. There was just a lot of young white kids there. With Mommy and Daddies charge cards and their attitudes. All the girls were wearing way to much make-up and had overly styled hair. Most of the boys had very boring things on, and a lot of them just looked gay! Damn you "Queer Eye". Some of the guys had on the new skinny jeans which made them look like chicks. It was an interesting anthropologic study. It made me grateful to have been a teenager in the cynical nineties; where, the more homeless you looked the cooler you were. I think it would have been to much of an added stress to buy the latest trendy clothes to fit in. Thanks mom, for popping me out in '76.

Take the 100 Acre Personality Quiz!

I took this test today. Go fig'! I really feel good about this year, about my life and the direction it is going. That's not to say that I won't be down again, because life is full of ups and downs. But, for now, it's good! I've registered for classes this semester. I'm taking math and poetry. I've purged a lot of things from my life that I don't use, or wear anymore. I've gotten rid of clothes and old candles and a few other thingies. I might go to Mexico, and I'm definitely going to Eureka this summer. And I've bought the John Legend CD, Once Again. It's so cool.

You should see if Patty's friend, Suesan, can knit you a sweater. She does really good!
